F.A.Q - How to password protect a directory with FrontPage:

Open FrontPage web

Create a new folder, then right mouse click on the folder and select Convert to Web, and click yes.

Then double click on that folder to open that new web.

Click on Tools, Server, Permissions.

It will then open up a web page “Permissions Administration”

Click on Change Permissions, select Use unique permission for this Web site, then click Submit.

Then click Administration at the top of the page.

Click Change anonymous access settings, select Anonymous access is: Off

Click Submit, then OK.

This will password protect the directory with the same Username and Password for the main site.


If you want to give it a unique Username and Password. Do the below:

Click on the Administration link at the top of the page.

Then Manage users, the Add a user, fill out the form with the required information.

Then click Add User

That should do it. You are now ready.
